Trains From Ardenwood
Regional Park

The following pictures were taken at Ardenwood Regional Park in Fremont, CA. They operate a short section of narrow gauge track (about a mile I believe). This picture shows their only diesel engine. It is used for maintenance trains only. Their normal trains consist of a flat car with benches pulled by a horse. For more information, check out the SPCRR's website.
Here is the above mentioned flat car. This picture shows how narrow the track is... Note also the link and pin coupler.
This switch is typical of early narrow gauge practice: it requires no complex tools to machine points.
